To start using your plan:

• Learn what is covered by your plan. Keep your Blue Kit handy. You can also check Benefits and Coverage to learn about your plan.
• Complete your annual Health Risk Screening (HRS). BCBSIL will call or text you soon to complete your HRS. The HRS will help us know your health habits, any health risks and if you need a Care Coordinator. Call Member Services if you missed our call or text and would like to complete your HRS. You can also complete the HRS online. Just log in to our secure member portal, Blue Access for Members^℠. Go to the Wellness section under My Health to complete the screening. 
• Log in to your Blue Access for Members account. You can instantly find health care resources. You also can access your account by using the BCBSIL Mobile App. Learn more about Blue Access for Members and the Mobile App.
• Always keep your member ID card with you. Show it every time you need health care. If you did not receive your member ID card, call Member Services at 1-877-860-2837 (TTY: 711). Also, you can use your online account to access your digital member ID card. 
• Confirm your Primary Care Provider (PCP): Your member ID card has your PCP on it. Check to make sure the PCP listed is correct. Need to select a new PCP or change your PCP? You can:
  • Log in to your online account and go to Find Care section. Under My Health you will find the link to select a new PCP or change your PCP.
  • Call Member Services at 1-877-860-2837.
• Call to schedule an initial health exam with your PCP within 30 days of joining. During the first exam, the PCP will learn about your health care needs. To find a provider near you, use the Provider Finder®.

Did you know that your BCCHP or HBIS plan covers dental care? Routine dental care and check-ups are important for good health.

BCBSIL works with DentaQuest^® to provide the dental care you need. We cover many services from in-network dentists like cleanings, exams, x-rays, fillings, emergency dental services, and more. Your covered dental care may vary based on your age. Check the Member Handbook for your plan to get details. 

Take steps to get dental care:  

• Find a Dentist: Visit DentaQuest’s website  to find a dentist in your area. Or call Member Services at 1-877-860-2837 (TTY: 711) to ask for help finding a dentist near you. 
• Make a Dental Appointment: Schedule an appointment for a dental exam and cleaning.  
• Need a Ride to the Dentist? BCBSIL covers the cost of transportation to your dental visits. Use the Modivcare app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. You also can call Modivcare at 1-877-831-3148 (TTY: 1-866-288-3133) to schedule a ride to your dental appointment. 

BCSBIL covers more than just standard Illinois Medicaid benefits. We offer extra services called value-added benefits to our Medicaid plan members. VABs are designed to keep you and your family healthy. VABs include: 

• Over-the-counter (OTC) drugs and supplies
• Blue365 member discount program
• Additional dental cleaning
• Rewards for completing certain preventive care visits 
• Baby supplies for pregnant members 
• Learn to Live digital mental health programs 

Check out the list of VABs for the BCCHP plan or VABs for the HBIS plan. Call Member Services at 1-877-860-2837 (TTY: 711) to find out if you are eligible for some or all of these services. 

Make sure you are registered with BCCHP IL Rewards. You can earn gift cards after you complete certain preventive care services. Redeem gift cards through BCCHP IL Rewards.

• Register at BCBSIL.com/BCCHPILRewards or download the BCCHP IL Rewards mobile app. 
• You will need your member ID card, date of birth, and email address to register.

Sometimes, it is much easier to stay home than go to a provider if you or your loved ones are not feeling well. If it’s hard to visit your doctor in person, virtual care is an option. You have options to help you stay at home and still get the help you may need. 

• MDLIVE^® Virtual Visits: MDLIVE’s doctors can help you with many non-emergency health issues 24/7. You can get urgent care for an illness or injury such as cold/flu, fevers, headaches and more. A virtual visit connects you to a doctor via online video, mobile app or phone 24/7.  They can send prescriptions to your local pharmacy, if you need one. Learn more about Virtual Visits. 
• PCP Telehealth Visit: You may be able to get non-emergency medical care with your doctor without needing to leave your home. Ask your PCP if they offer telehealth visits and how to get set up. Find out more about telehealth visits. 
• 24/7 Nurseline: Nurses are available anytime to talk about your health. They can give you advice about what to do based on your symptoms. A nurse will help you decide if you should call your doctor, go to the emergency room or urgent care, or treat the condition yourself. Save the 24/7 Nurseline number in your phone so you have it when you need it. Call the 24/7 Nurseline at 1-888-343-2697 (TTY: 711). 
• Behavioral Health: You can also get virtual visits for behavioral health needs. If you have questions, call Member Services at 1-877-860-2837 (TTY: 711).

Your MLTSS plan offers health care that helps you do things you are no longer able to do for yourself. As part of this plan, you get access to MLTSS providers and care given in your home or in a supportive living facility. There are no copays for covered MLTSS services.

• Let your Care Coordinator know your health status. BCBSIL will work with your other plans and service providers. It's important that your Care Coordinator knows about your health condition(s). That way you can get set up for the care you need.

Have you set up your online account and log in to our secure member portal or mobile app yet? 

Here’s how to get set up on the Blue Access for Members website:  

1. Go to mybam.bcbsil.com and choose “Activate Your Account.”
2. Follow the on-screen instructions.
3. Be ready to provide your BCBSIL member ID and confirm your email.

To start using the mobile app on your smartphone:

With Blue Access for Members you can:

• Request a new member ID card or print a temp ID while you wait for your new ID card to come in the mail

Almost half of all people in the United States will experience a mental health condition at some point in their life. BCBSIL offers services to support your mental health. Your plan benefits include: 

• Therapy, counseling, and medication management 
• Substance use treatment 
• Crisis services 

What can I do to get help?  

• Find a Behavioral Health Provider. You do not need a referral for a provider that is in our network. Remember to ask about telehealth. If you have questions about finding a provider, call Member Services at 1-877-860-2837 (TTY/TDD: 711). 
• Sign Up for Learn to Live. Learn to Live is a no cost online mental health program. It is offered to members 13 and older and caregivers. Learn to Live gives self-paced mental health solutions. Plus, you can access coaches 24/7. It can help with common challenges like stress, anxiety, depression, insomnia and substance abuse. To start, register at the Learn to Live website. Use access code ILMED.
• Educate Yourself. It is important to understand your mental health conditions. Choose a video link below to learn more.

• Contact a Care Coordinator. Call Member Services at at 1-877-860-2837 (TTY: 711) and ask to speak with a Care Coordinator. They can help you understand your condition, get treatment, and access covered health care. Learn about care coordination.

If you are having a mental health crisis, there is help. Call one of the crisis lines below. They are 24/7. Calls are private and at no cost to you. Note: If you have a life-threatening emergency, please call 911.
