Health Care Costs

What Should You (and Your Wallet) Expect?

Some doctor visits, like an annual check-up, will cost you $0 with your plan. Others, like an appointment for the flu, may cost you money. Knowing where to go for care when you need it can save you time and money.

Annual Check-Ups

Annual exams are $0 with your plan. However, if you get "extra" services during your appointment, like a new prescription or unexpected test, you may need to pay.

Checkups for Illness or Injury

Did you visit your doctor because of a scratchy throat or new symptom? If you go to your doctor for more than 1 annual checkup a year, you may get a health care bill.

Resources

Resources For Your Doctor Visits

Virtual Visits may be limited by plan. For providers licensed in New Mexico and the District of Columbia, Urgent Care service is limited to interactive online video; Behavioral Health service requires video for the initial visit but may use video or audio for follow-up visits, based on the provider’s clinical judgment. Behavioral Health is not available on all plans.

2 Blue Points Program Rules are subject to change without prior notice. See the Program Rules on the Well onTarget Member Wellness Portal for more information. Blue Points will expire 90 days after coverage on a qualifying BCBSIL plan terminates.

3 Blue365 is a discount program only for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois members. This is NOT insurance. Some of the services offered through this program may be covered under your health plan. Members should check their benefit booklet or call the Customer Service number on the back of their ID card for specific benefit facts. Use of Blue365 does not change monthly payments, nor do costs of the services or products count toward any maximums and/or plan deductibles. Discounts are only given through vendors that take part in this program. BCBSIL does not guarantee or make any claims or recommendations about the program’s services or products. Members should consult their doctor before using these services and products. BCBSIL reserves the right to stop or change this program at any time without notice
