Help Members and Clients Understand Get Covered Illinois, the State-Based Exchange

With the rollout of Get Covered Illinois℠, the state-based exchange, shopping and enrollment for 2026 health and dental coverage may look a little different for Illinois residents. You can reassure your clients that where and how they shop may have changed, but not to worry — they can keep their plan from BCBSIL if they have one, or they can look at our other options. Just as we offered plans on and off the federal Health Insurance Marketplace®, our quality coverage is now available through Get Covered Illinois.
Reassure your clients:
If a plan was purchased directly through you, it does NOT need to be changed to the Illinois marketplace.
Subsidies or financial help are still available for those who qualify if they purchase a Marketplace plan through you.
You can help them with enrollment in an ACA plan off the Get Covered Illinois marketplace if they don’t qualify for financial assistance.
Current members of BCBSIL who want information about their 2026 coverage can go to to get access to their 2026 plan details, including costs and benefit changes. The member will need the 9- or 10-digit code found on the front page of their renewal packet. Copies of members’ renewal packets can be found in Retail Producer Portal.
Your clients who enroll in a plan by Dec. 15, 2025, will be covered beginning Jan. 1, 2026. It’s not too soon to lock in next year’s health and dental coverage.
