Sept. 16, 2026
Applies to Large Groups and National Accounts*
Starting Jan. 1, 2027, BlueCare Dental Enhanced Benefit PlusSM, an expanded offering of our BlueCare Dental Enhanced Benefit program, will be available for new, Large Group dental sales (151 or more enrolled employees), including Fully Insured and Self-Funded groups. Existing Large Groups renewing Jan. 1, 2027, can also add this expanded benefit.
What’s changing: In addition to diabetes, cardiovascular disease and pregnancy, eligibility now includes pre-diabetes, stroke, renal disease, transplant, cancer treatment, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjogren’s Disease, Lupus, Parkinson’s Disease, ALS, Huntington’s Disease and Alzheimer’s Disease. Members with these conditions may be eligible for additional dental services like an additional cleaning, periodontal maintenance, adult fluoride treatment and an additional oral evaluation.
Groups will also have the opportunity to choose an Asthma/COPD buy-up option to provide additional support for their employees with chronic respiratory conditions. The BlueCare Dental Enhanced Benefit program will continue to be offered to groups with up to 150 employees.
Why it matters: Oral health plays an important role in overall health, especially for members with chronic or complex medical conditions.
How this supports your clients:
- Increases access to preventive and periodontal care
- Closes gaps in care
- Supports earlier intervention and better outcomes
- Helps manage total health care costs
