You may have received a legally-required letter saying your health plan won’t be available in 2024. Rest assured - we can help you and your family stay covered with another BCBSIL health insurance plan:
Your current health insurance plan may not provide all of the rights and protections of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
For 2024, we can help you get coverage that complies with the ACA. Find your plan options when Open Enrollment begins on November 1, 2023.
You can review 2024 coverage options when Open Enrollment begins November 1, 2023. Please read all information carefully so you don't have a gap in your coverage:
For you new plan's coverage to begin on January 1, 2024, please enroll by December 15, 2023. If you enroll after December 15, you may have a gap in your coverage.
You can still enroll in a new plan from December 15, 2023 until January 15, 2024. If you enroll in this timeframe, your coverage won't start until February 1, 2024.
This means you might not have health care coverage in January, 2023.
Because your plan is changing, you also qualify for a Special Enrollment Period. This means your deadline to enroll in a new plan for the 2024 plan year is February 28, 2024. Please note, if you choose to wait to enroll during this Special Enrollment Period, you will not have coverage until the first of the month following your premium payment.
If you apply on January 16, 2024 or later, your coverage would start on February 1, 2024. If you apply on February 1, 2024 or later, your coverage would start on March 1, 2024.
Once you enroll in a new plan and make your first premium payment, you'll receive membership materials, like your Welcome Letter or Email, your member ID card, and your member Welcome Kit.
