Earlier this year, we announced the upcoming implementation of new laboratory policies and a new program for claims for certain outpatient laboratory services provided to our fully insured, commercial non-HMO members, effective Jan. 1, 2022. The original notice was published in September 2021, with a reminder in November 2021. You may have attended an educational webinar, hosted by Avalon Health Solutions (Avalon).
Please note that Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) has postponed the implementation of the new lab policies and laboratory program with Avalon, formerly scheduled to launch Jan. 1, 2022
