Sept. 8, 2025
Physician Performance Insight reports for our Physician Efficiency, Appropriateness, and QualitySM program are ready for eligible Illinois physicians to access online. Reports are available only for physicians who provided care to a minimum number of our members in the report time frame and practice in PEAQ specialties listed in the methodology.
PPI reports show how physicians compare to their peers and highlight areas of focus for improving performance. Results from 2025 reports will influence Provider Finder® search results and be summarized on physician profiles in 2026.
What’s new this year: We’ve added Quality Practice Score indicators to give physicians more actionable details about PEAQ scoring. These are condition-based quality measures with multiple indicators focused on specific aspects of care.
For instance, the Diabetes-Type 2: Adherence to Guideline-Directed Care measure has four indicators:
- Recommended annual lipid monitoring
- Recommended annual urine albumin creatinine ratio monitoring
- Recommended high-intensity statin therapy in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease
- Recommended semiannual glycemic control monitoring
Reports for physicians evaluated for this measure now show which indicators applied to their score and how they performed on those indicators during the reporting timeframe.
Reminder on efficiency-only specialties
In 2024, we added 23 new specialties for the efficiency component. This was PEAQ's largest expansion to date and covers several key specialties, such as dermatology and physical medicine and rehabilitation.
The current specialties are listed in the methodology.
