Providers with BCCHPSM: Encourage Members to Use Virtual Visits for Urgent Care After Hours

If our members with Blue Cross Community Health PlansSM need to receive care after hours or while traveling, they may access MDLIVE® Virtual Visits for urgent, non-emergency medical conditions.  We encourage you to tell our members about this benefit if they need services when your office isn’t available. 

About MDLIVE: MDLIVE provides 24/7 access to independently contracted, licensed providers by phone or video. Issues they can help with include allergies, cold and flu, cough, COVID-19, ear pain, headaches, insect bites, pink eye, rashes, sinus problems, sore throats and UTIs. MDLIVE providers can write and send prescriptions to a nearby pharmacy. 

Members may access the platform by calling the number on their member ID card or by visiting the MDLIVE website

Virtual Visits may be limited by plan. For providers licensed in New Mexico and the District of Columbia, Urgent Care service is limited to interactive online video.
