A registered attending provider must be included on all long-term care claims for Illinois Medicaid members.
In October 2025 , the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services announced implementation of additional LTC claim edits to confirm the correct provider type of attending providers.
Claim reminders: To ensure LTC claims submitted for members with Blue Cross Community Health PlansSM don’t deny or reject, please note:
- The attending provider must be registered with Illinois Medicaid Program Advanced Cloud Technology (IMPACT) as an individual practitioner.
- The attending provider’s National Provider Identifier must be reported on the claim in the appropriate loop or box.
- Claims will reject or deny if the attending provider isn’t enrolled with IMPACT on the date of service.
