Oct. 30, 2025

What’s changing? Effective Jan. 1, 2026, Alacura Medical Transportation Management will manage prior authorization, recommended clinical review and retrospective claim review for commercial non-HMO air and ground medical transportation claims.

What do I need to do? For services effective Jan. 1, 2026, facilities and providers should promptly contact Alacura once the transport decision is made. Ambulance providers should check that Alacura has been engaged for medical ground and air transport before picking up the patient. Nurses are available daily 24/7 for real-time verbal assessments.
