As you schedule appointments and seek care, be sure to keep these things in mind:

  • Many preventive and wellness services are covered at no cost to you. These include annual checkups, age-related screenings, immunizations and well-baby care.
  • Deductibles and coinsurance apply for other health care services, such as doctor appointments to treat an illness or chronic condition, surgeries and hospital stays.

About Your Member ID Card

Your ID card is your "passport" to health care. Didn't receive one? Call Customer Service at 1-800-535-9825 and we'll help you.

Your ID card:

  • Tells your doctors and other providers about your benefits and helps them file your claims. Always show your ID card when you receive care.
  • Includes important toll-free phone numbers on the back.
  • Gives you access to our secure member site, Blue Access for MembersSM. Use the numbers on the front to register here or via our app.
  • Can be saved to your iPhone® with Apple Wallet. Get the BCBSIL app by texting UNITED to 33633*. Once the app is installed, click the ID card button at the bottom of the page.

    • Why? Customer Service Advocates know your plan and can answer your questions about benefits and claims, and help you find a doctor or hospital.
  • Register for our secure member site, Blue Access for Members.
    • You can register here or via our app: text UNITED to 33633*. You will need to have your ID card handy when you register.
    • Why register? Your information will be as close as your phone. See your claims, access your ID card information, find a doctor, research costs for procedures, send secure messages to a customer advocate, find forms, and more.
