    You can log into Blue Access for Members 24/7 to access your benefits information or Call the Customer Service number on the back of your BCBSIL ID card.
  • Are my medical records kept private?
    Yes. We are committed to protecting your medical records, and have strict rules to make sure our staff and anyone who needs to see your records keep all your member information confidential. Your medical records or claims details may have to be reviewed. If so, precautions are taken to keep your information safe. In many cases your identity, such as name and address, will not be included in the information given during the review.
  • If I join the PPO Medical Plan, will I be able to continue using my current doctor?
    Yes. In fact, it's likely that your doctor is already a member of this network and you’ll automatically receive network discounts. To confirm that your doctor is a member of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield PPO network, please call the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Customer Service Center for United members at 1-800-535-9825 or consult our list of Doctors and Hospitals. If your doctor is not a member of a Blue Cross and Blue Shield PPO network, you may continue seeing that doctor but you may not receive in network benefits or discounted services.
  • How will ongoing treatment for a medical condition be affected by changing to the BCBS PPO network?
    If you are undergoing treatment when you join BCBS and your provider is part of the PPO network, your benefits will automatically be paid as in network and you'll receive network discounts. If you are undergoing treatment when you enroll and your physician is not in the BCBS PPO network, you may qualify for in network benefits. Please call the Blue Cross Blue Shield Customer Service for United members at 1-800-535-9825 for additional details or complete the Transition of Care form.
