Telehealth Services Clarified

We’d like to clarify: Last week, you may have read our Update to 2021 Telehealth Services article. The changes documented in the article don’t affect Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL). Nothing has changed for BCBSIL customers.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • The information in the article matches our current telehealth coverage.
  • Our cost-share waiver still applies to telehealth services for our fully insured customers for the duration of the Executive Order.
  • ASO customers made telemedicine cost-share waiver decisions in December 2020 – no further decisions are necessary.
