Your Drug List - What Prescription Drugs Are Covered

All of the BCBSIL plans use the Performance Select Drug List. How much you pay out-of-pocket for prescription drugs is determined by whether your medication is on the list. Check the drug list below to see if your prescription drugs are covered.

Some of your prescriptions may have additional requirements or coverage limits. You can check if any of your medicines:

• Need a prior authorization approval (Please Note: Active prior authorizations will transfer to Prime for January 2025. You should not need to submit a new request until it is time to renew unless you have a benefit exclusion, your PA is expired, or you are starting treatment. GLP-1 drugs will only be covered for diabetes management in 2025. Any PA approvals for GLP-1 drugs not used for diabetes will expire on 12/31/2024. No coverage exceptions will be allowed.)
• Require a prescription history before your medicine may be covered
• Have limits on how much of your medicine you can fill at a time
• Need to be filled at an in-network specialty pharmacy

Where To Fill Your Prescriptions

Retail Pharmacies - Traditional Select Pharmacy Network

Starting January 1, 2025, you can find a pharmacy in the Traditional Select pharmacy network by logging in to your online member account.

For maintenance (or long-term) medications, you can choose either CVS Pharmacy or Walgreens as your preferred pharmacy chain during annual benefits enrollment. If you do not make a pharmacy selection, your pharmacy election will default to CVS.

Home Delivery

You can also use Amazon Pharmacy^® to have up to a 90-day supply of your covered non-specialty medicines mailed directly to your home.

Amazon Prime members get free 2-day shipping on most orders and 5-day shipping is free without Amazon Prime. Drug discount card pricing is built into your shopping experience so you pay the lowest available price. To start using the pharmacy service after January 1, 2025, create an account or call 1-855-206-0459.

Digital Tools

Before January 1, 2025, you can check coverage of your drugs by going to MyPrime and selecting "Find medicines".

To find an in-network pharmacy, visit MyPrime and select “Other BCBSIL Plans” as your health plan type. Select “Continue” and then choose the Traditional Select Network.

Blue Access for Members^SM

After January 1, 2025, you can view your specific prescription drug plan benefit information by registering or logging in to your BAM account or MyPrime.

BCBSIL Mobile App

You can also download the BCBSIL App from the Apple Store or Google Play to help manage your prescription drug benefits. Please note: you can register for BAM or download the mobile app now, but your pharmacy benefits information will not be available until January 1, 2025.
