Traveling across the country or around the world? Our unique BlueCard Program helps you access contracting doctors and hospitals across the nation and around the world.

BlueCard is a national program that enables members to obtain emergency health care services when traveling or living outside their Blue Plan service area. When BCBS members travel or live away from home for an extended period of time, they'll have the same emergency benefits as their BCBS Plan.

More than 90% of all hospitals and 80% of doctors in the United States contract with Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBS) Plans. Outside the United States, members have access to doctors and hospitals in more than 200 countries and territories around the world through the BlueCard Program.

• Easy access to contracting providers. The program provides access to one of the largest networks of contracting providers in America.
• Usually no paperwork or claims to file. When visiting a network provider, all you need to do is show your ID card.

BlueCard coverage will vary for each BCBS Plan and will vary depending on whether you choose a contracting or non-contracting provider. Be sure to call Customer Service at the number on the back of your ID card before traveling.
