Vision Benefit Program

Members of the HMOs of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois now have their vision benefits administered by EyeMed Vision Care*, a company providing access to more than 18,000 vision care providers nationwide and close to 1,000 providers in Illinois.

Benefits include a routine annual eye exam for the same cost as an office visit copayment (a referral from their primary care physician is not necessary), as well as discounts on eyewear.

Members have access to:

• A routine annual eye exam for the same cost as their office visit copayment
• Savings on the purchase of eyewear, including frames, lenses and permanent contact lenses

To access their benefits and to receive discounts on eyewear, members visit one of the many contracting vision care providers in the network, including LensCrafters^®. They simply present their Blue Cross and Blue Shield member ID card. No referral is necessary and there is no limit to the number of times they can receive discounts on purchases. Many locations have convenient evening and weekend hours.
