Individual health plans have choices for you and your family1, such as your spouse or children under the age of 26.
With a BCBSIL health plan you have:
You may also qualify for Medicaid, Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) or other assistance based on your income. These health care coverage options are provided by the government. There’s no SEP, so you can apply at any time. You may also qualify for financial help.
Note: Members of American Indian and Alaska Native tribes can apply for health care coverage any month of the year.
Learn what's included with your BCBSIL health plan and network. We offer coverage in Chicago, Peoria, Springfield, the Quad Cities and across Illinois.
A network (also called group of providers) is part of each plan. If you want to control costs, you’ll need to get care in your plan’s network. If you don’t, you may have to pay for most of or the full cost of your care. You may also be able to meet with a network provider by phone or video.
All our health plans cover these essential health benefits and services: wellness, maternity, newborn/pediatric care, ambulance, emergency, hospitalization, labs, prescription drugs, disease management, mental health, substance abuse and rehabilitative devices.
All our health plans offer prescription drug coverage. Based on your plan, once you've met your deductible, you will either pay a set amount (copay) or a percentage (coinsurance) of your drug costs.
BCBSIL health plans cover a range of preventive care services. Getting this care in-network means you won't pay out-of-pocket costs. Examples include screenings, immunizations, wellness programs and more.
Insurance companies, like BCBSIL, can't refuse to cover treatment for health problems you had before your new health plan starts.
With a BCBSIL health plan, you and your family can save on health care products and services through our discount program, Blue365. Examples include fitness apparel, gym memberships and more.
Health care coverage may now be more affordable than you think.

Our Premium Tax Credit (PTC) Estimator tool can show you if a subsidy may help you save on your health plan's monthly bill.
