Diana Razo: We can help you find a clinic, connect you with local resources, behavioral health services and health care navigation. We can also answer questions about our programming and help you with registering for a FIT kit.
So FIT stands for Fecal Immunochemical Test. This test can be done once a year. To participate, you must be between the ages of 45-75 years old, haven't had a diagnosis of colorectal cancer and haven't been screened in the last 12 months.
So when you come in, you'll be greeted by a concierge team member and you'll be asked some questions such as if you're between the ages of 45-75, if you've ever had a diagnosis of colorectal cancer, and if you've been screened within the last 12 months. If you're eligible, you will fill out a waiver to participate. You will then fill out a form with your information and you can provide the information of your primary care physician. But that is optional. We will then notate the ID of your kit and provide the kit to you.
So you will take the FIT kit home and simply follow the instructions to collect a stool sample.
So you'll mail the FIT kit in the prepaid envelope to the lab. Our partner will then send you your results and you can do this kit once a year.
So our partner in this campaign will send you your results, as well as your PCP if you provided their information. If your results came back positive or abnormal, contact your PCP. They might recommend further testing, such as a colonoscopy.
