See CMO Perspective for ‘Chronic Kidney Disease: Help Your Patients Understand Risk Factors and Preventive Measures’

April 16, 2024

Many of your patients may know someone with a friend or family member who’s getting dialysis or waiting for a kidney transplant. But unless they’ve experienced CKD themselves, your patients may not know much about the condition and why aggressive treatments may be necessary.

Last month, on World Kidney Day, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois Vice President and Chief Medical Officer Derek Robinson, M.D. was interviewed by a local TV station to improve CKD awareness in the community.

We invite you to read Dr. Robinson’s latest CMO Perspective post, Chronic Kidney Disease: Help Your Patients Understand Risk Factors and Preventive Measures. In this entry, Dr. Robinson shares highlights from the TV segment that may be helpful when you’re talking with your patients about their kidney health.

As a reminder, CMO Perspective is found in our Clinical Resources section. Each time there’s a new entry from Dr. Robinson, we’ll alert you via News and Updates. We’ll also include reminders in Blue Review. We hope you find this online forum interesting and useful.
