Coverage

As an employee of Sysco Corporation, you understand that building customer relationships requires time, effort and sincerity. Just as the Sysco name and logo symbolizes value added superior service, for millions of Americans, the Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBS) name and logos symbolize peace of mind when health care benefits coverage is needed most.

We're pleased to welcome you as a member, and we look forward to serving you. If you have any questions about your benefits, call Customer Service at 1-866-491-4911.

Coordination of Benefits

You or your dependents may be covered by more than one group medical plan, such as the Sysco Corporation medical plan and your spouse's employer's plan or even Medicare. When this happens, the Sysco Corporation medical plan options use a coordination of benefits provision to coordinate payments with the other plan.

The coordination of benefits provision ensures that claims are paid correctly according to the terms and conditions set forth in the Sysco Summary Plan Description.

To calculate the coordination of benefit provision, it is necessary to determine which plan is the primary plan and which is the secondary plan. The primary plan pays benefits first. The secondary plan pays benefits after the primary plan.

For Blue Cross and Blue Shield to properly administer the coordination of benefits provision, they must know if anyone in your family is covered by another insurance plan. The simplest way for a Sysco Associate to advise Blue Cross and Blue Shield of other insurance is to call Customer Service at 1-866-491-4911. You should advise the Customer Service representative if your dependents have other insurance coverage or not, or if your dependents' other insurance coverage ceases or changes throughout the calendar year.

Failure to notify Blue Cross and Blue Shield of your dependents' other insurance coverage may delay the processing of their claims.
