New Medication Delivery Program Offers Dose-packaging for Medicaid Members

April 19, 2022

We’ve launched a program with Affinity Patient Coordination (Affinity) to help our eligible Blue Cross Community Health PlansSM (BCCHPSM) members follow prescribed medication regimens.

Affinity offers a medication delivery program to bring prescription drugs directly to the homes of enrolled members. The medications are presorted by day of the week and sealed in strips of individual packages. Each package is labeled with drug name, dose, and time of day it should be taken.

All eligible BCCHP members were notified by mail with an invitation to enroll. Members will receive follow-up calls or text messages to explain the program and confirm enrollment.

How can you help?
If you provide care for BCCHP members, please encourage them to enroll in this safe, easy and free program, if it’s offered to them.

How are existing prescriptions transferred?
If members agree to participate, an Affinity pharmacist will contact you and any other prescribers for prescription transfer authorization.

What about new prescriptions for eligible members?
Once a member is enrolled, update the member’s preferred pharmacy in your system to Affinity Pharmacy Care. New prescription orders can be sent to Affinity Pharmacy Care electronically using your ePrescribing software. Other changes to a member’s medication can be sent to Affinity Pharmacy Care, too.
