BCCHPSM and MMAI Provider Alert: 2020 Mandatory Annual Training Must Be Completed by May 1, 2021
Posted March 11, 2021
This reminder applies to all providers that are independently contracted with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) to provide care and services to the following government programs members: Blue Cross Community MMAI (Medicare-Medicaid Plan)SM and/or Blue Cross Community Health PlansSM (BCCHPSM).
It’s a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and/or Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) requirement for BCBSIL to make available provider training on specific topics related to MMAI and BCCHP. Annual completion of all required training modules is mandatory for all MMAI and BCCHP contracted providers.
As we reminded you in our September 2020 Blue Review, the deadline for completion of mandatory training last year was Dec. 31, 2020. We understand that, due to challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic, some providers were unable to meet the 2020 deadline. Therefore, the 2020 mandatory annual training deadline has been extended to May 1, 2021.
