Attention Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (SUPR) Providers: Updated SUPR Services Billing Guidelines

Posted September 16, 2019

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) has received formal notification from the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) regarding a 2.5% rate increase that became effective July 1, 2019, for SUPR services.

This increase applies to all SUPR providers who provide care and services to Medicaid recipients with benefit plans administered by Managed Care Organizations (MCOs). For BCBSIL, this includes our Blue Cross Community Health PlansSM (BCCHPSM) and/or Blue Cross Community MMAI (Medicare-Medicaid Plan)SM (MMAI) members.

Effective immediately, SUPR providers may begin to submit claims for services provided to BCCHP and MMAI members with dates of service July 1, 2019, and forward, with the increased rates.

An updated SUPR Billing Services Guideline document is available in the Related Resources on our Medicaid page for your reference. If you have questions regarding this rate increase notification or claims submission and processing, please contact your assigned BCBSIL Provider Network Consultant for assistance.
