Virtual Visits

Our virtual visits solution, powered by MDLIVE, lets you have a live consultation with an independently contracted, MDLIVE board-certified doctor. Based on your location, this can happen by mobile app, online video or phone – 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Instead of going to the doctor’s office, you can talk with a doctor while at home, work or many other places.

Getting Care

MDLIVE’s doctors can treat many non-emergency medical conditions, like:

General Health
  • Allergies
  • Asthma
  • Sinus infections
Pediatric Care
  • Cold/flu
  • Ear infections
  • Pink eye

They can also write – and send – prescriptions (when appropriate) to a nearby pharmacy.

Finding a virtual visits doctor is easy. Log into Blue Access for MembersSM (BAMSM) to sign up on MDLIVE’s website Opens in new window Learn more about third-party links. Once your account is active, you can have a virtual visit.

Transition of Care

Transition of Care refers to individuals that are in a treatment program at the time their coverage transitions from one provider network to another.

Examples of medical conditions that may meet the guidelines for Transition of Care include but are not limited to:

  • Maternity
  • Cardiac Rehab
  • Active Chemotherapy
  • Planned and Recent Transplants
  • Inpatient Hospitalizations (if you are hospitalized on the date your coverage transfers between claim administrators)

If you are in a long-term treatment program like one listed above: Make sure your current physician is in the BCBS PPO Network. If they are, continue to see them and you will receive the In-Network benefit levels for their services.

If your physician is not in the BCBS PPO Network: You can apply to continue the treatment program with that physician. Please complete the Transition of Care form below.
