Dental Coverage

Coverage Blue Cross Community Health Plans members will use DentaQuest* providers for dental care. Visit the DentaQuest site to find dentists. Choose a dentist who is on the list. Dentists on the list are in our plan network, and you do not need an OK from your PCP for dental care.

Some dental care requires prior approval. For those services, you must have approval before getting treatment. Without approval, you will have to pay for those services.

What services are covered?

For members under age 21, dental services include:

  • One (1) fluoride treatment per year
  • Sealants
  • Fillings
  • Crowns
  • Root Canals
  • Dentures
  • Extractions
  • Emergency dental services

For members over 21, dental services include:

  • Two (2) cleanings per year
  • Two (2) exams per year
  • One (1) set of preventive X-rays per year
  • Emergency dental services

Some limits apply to general dentistry above

What services are not covered?

This plan does not cover some dental services such as:

  • Cosmetic dentistry
  • Tooth bleaching and whitening
  • Implants
