The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the State of Illinois have partnered with BCBSIL to implement MMAI. It is a requirement of CMS for all MMAI contracted providers to have training on the following topics:
- Care Management and The Interdisciplinary Care Team
- Wellness Principles
- Cultural Competency
- Disability Literacy
- Independent Living and Recovery (Includes Behavioral Health Recovery and Crisis Intervention)
- Health, Safety and Welfare (Abuse, Neglect and Financial Exploitation of the Enrollees)
- Fraud, Waste and Abuse (Medicare and Medicaid)
To help you meet the MMAI training requirements, BCBSIL Provider Network Relations is conducting training seminars that will cover these topics. Suggested attendees include hospitalists, hospital-based case managers, quality management representatives, charge nurses and nurse supervisors, admitting supervisors, discharge planners, ER managers and department managers.
