Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) is proud to offer complimentary educational webinars to our provider community.
These online training sessions will give you the flexibility to attend live sessions via desktop instead of incurring travel costs attending a workshop hosted in another facility. Provider billers, utilization areas, administrative departments, etc will all benefit from these webinars. They have been separated into specific topics of interest and will give you the opportunity to decide what best fits your needs. These topics are suggested for new contracting providers, however all providers are welcome to attend.

Detailed claim status is easily accessible online via the BCBSIL Claim Research Tool. This feature is offered at no charge exclusively through availity.com.  Users can obtain the equivalent of an Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), including payment details and line item breakdowns.

Your clearinghouse, practice management system and/or other vendor(s) should be able to support transactions with ICD-10 as of the Oct. 1, 2015, compliance deadline. However, if necessary, you may submit electronic claims one-by-one via the AvailityTM Web portal using the Direct Data Entry option. After each claim is submitted electronically, a transaction report is returned in Availity to advise if the submission was accepted by the payer.
