Attention: All Illinois Medicare Hospitals, SNF, Renal Dialysis and CORF Providers
As you may recall, Illinois Medicare Part A providers were informed of the Enterprise Data Center (EDC) transition from the National Government Services (NGS) Data Center to the EDS Data Center for claims processing. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently completed and awarded several contracts for the Enterprise Data Centers (EDCs) for Medicare fee-for-service (FFS) claims processing. For the Illinois FFS claims processing requirements, CMS has selected Electronic Data Services (EDS) as the EDC contract.
Effective Oct. 30, 2008, the prompt utilized by all Illinois Medicare Hospitals, SNF, Renal Dialysis and CORF providers using BCBSIL Adminastar Federal Inc. (ASF) to get to National Government Services (NGS) will no longer be available. This is a new mandate from CMS. If you have not yet done so, it is imperative that you obtain new ID assignments and connection instructions by going to the following site: http://www.NGSMedicare.com/NGSMedicare/ILPartAEDCMigration.htm
