A new online tool is available for any prospective members to estimate the costs of prescription drug purchases through the Pharmacy Benefit Manager, Prime Therapeutics. Previously only available to existing members and employees of sold groups, this tool shows the coverage status, formulary status and an estimate of the price per drug. The actual cost to a member after enrollment in a Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois health plan depends on the plan design their employer group has purchased, e.g. copays, coinsurance, mixed copays/coinsurance, CDHP, BlueScript, etc.

A prospective member can visit Prime Therapeutics Web site, “MyRxHealth” and register as a unique user or start with a visit to www.bcbsil.com and follow these steps:

• Because prospective members can not register for Blue Access® for Members, a prospective member should click on the word “Members” on the home page to visit the public member portal.
• Next, click on "Prescription Drugs" from among the navigation options near the top of the screen.
• Then the prospective member clicks on the applicable medical product type (PPO, BlueEdge PPO, CMM, POS, BlueChoice Select or HMO).
• On the next page, scroll down and click on "Coverage & Pricing Information," then click on "Continue" on the disclaimer page that follows.
• The prospective member is now on the Prime Therapeutics Web site, "MyRxHealth." On this initial visit, the member registers for a unique ID number and password.
• Following registration, the prospective member has reached their personalized welcome page on the Prime site.
