Delivering Maintenance Medications Directly to Members

The Mail Service Prescription Drug Benefit Program can save both time and money. With this program, members can receive up to a 90-day supply of maintenance medications delivered directly to them. Their specific benefit plan and whether their medication is generic, formulary brand or non-formulary brand will determine the amount they pay. Using a generic or formulary brand medication can help save money.

How to Order a Maintenance Medication

To order a maintenance medication for the first time, members should ask their doctor for a new written prescription for each medication they want to order through the program. To help save money, members should consider asking their doctors to prescribe a generic or formulary brand medication. Ask for two prescriptions: one for up to a 30-day supply that they can get filled at their local pharmacy to start immediately, and a second for up to a 90-day supply to be mailed to them.

Members send the prescriptions, the mail service registration and order form and the full amount they owe to the address on the order form. It's that simple. They can write a check or use a credit or debit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover). Members should not send cash. Please note, members only need to complete the registration information once.

Should a circumstance occur that a change was made to an existing prescription and a member needs a refill immediately, they can provide their doctor with a Physician Fax Form so that he/she can send their prescription directly to the mail service pharmacy for them. Please note that mail service pharmacy will only accept the Fax prescription directly from the doctor's office.
