New Tools and Features Available in Blue Access for MembersSM
Blue Access for MembersSM (BAM), your online resource for managing your health care coverage, now features more tools and resources to help your clients' employees better understand and make the most of their health benefits. Articles about the improvements will appear in the next-scheduled newsletters for employers and members.
As always, members may use BAM to learn about their plan coverage, order replacement ID cards, view and manage claims and much more. The new and improved BAM now also allows Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) members to:
- Research their options for care – Under the Doctors & Hospitals section, members can find information about the cost and quality of care to help them choose a doctor or hospital that best fits their needs.
- Find and organize claims – The new Claims Center search tool and filtering options help members find the information they need more quickly. Members can also create Claim Groups to organize claims by an event (like "Joe's Knee Surgery"), a category (like "School Physicals") or any label they prefer.
- Search for forms – In the new Forms & Documents section, members can use the Form Finder to search for the form they need or choose from a list of commonly used forms available to them.
- Find help when needed – Members will find more than FAQs in the Help section. Members may visit Health Care School for articles and videos that can help them make the most of their benefits. Members can also learn how to avoid out-of-network costs, how to prepare for a doctor visit and much more. Glossary definitions and helpful tips have been added throughout the site to help better explain insurance terms.
Members may use Blue Access MobileSM on their mobile device for easy access to benefits and coverage information while on the go. They may navigate to bcbsil.com and log in with their BAM user ID and password.
