BAPSM and BAESM Users: One-time Prompt to Update Contact Information

Sept. 13, 2021

Security upgrades. In July, we told you about enhanced security measures coming to maintain the health of the Blue Access for ProducersSM (BAP) and Blue Access for EmployersSM (BAE) portals.

One-time prompt. When BAP and BAE users log in, we will redirect them to their contact information in their user profiles. Once there, they will be asked to update or verify their contact information, including email address. The success of future BAP and BAE security upgrades is dependent on up-to-date email addresses.

When? The one-time prompt is scheduled for late October.

Who will receive the prompt?

  • BAP: All users will receive the update prompt.
  • BAE: Only users with assigned roles will receive the prompt. Group administrators or delegated administrators/security managers with the ability to grant BAE access to other users in the company won’t receive it.

Once users are redirected to their profiles:

  • If their contact information is correct, they can click Submit.
  • If anything needs updating, this can be done right on the page. Then click Submit.
  • Clicking Submit tells us the user took action.
  • Once users have either confirmed or updated their contact information, they won’t receive the prompt again.

Why it matters. Outdated contact information creates several problems. If we have bad email addresses, producers can’t receive the latest sales and marketing content. If we have bad phone numbers, we can’t include them in client materials. If we have bad mailing addresses, we can’t send tax forms promptly. Updated contact information is vital.

What you can do now. If you manage BAP access for other colleagues, please share the importance of up-to-date contact information. Encourage them to review their information when prompted.

Group clients. Employers will receive a similar notice about BAE in their newsletter.
