Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois has revised the Group Markets Standard Producer Commission Agreement to comply with the HIPAA Privacy regulations which were effective April 14, 2003. This agreement is now required for any external producer wishing to receive sales and retention of business commissions from BCBSIL. Please note that these documents relate to Group Markets commissions. A separate agreement is necessary to receive commissions for Direct Markets individual products.

Please enter your information in the first paragraph on the first page and in the "Producer" block on the left side of the ninth or last page. Except for the fields designed for information entry, no other changes may be made to the Standard Commission Agreement.

HIPAA Security Rule Notice of Clarification

This document modifies the Standard Producer Agreement, to comply with the HIPAA Security Rule which is effective April 20, 2005.  This is now part of the Standard Producer Commission Agreement Package.

Group Markets Producer Agreement Commission Schedule

This document is our standard commission table that is referred to under section II, commissions in the Standard Producer Commission Agreement. The document shows our standard commission rates for groups with 2 to 150 lives.

These forms only need to be completed by a new producer to whom we are not now paying commissions currently or if a current producer is changing the tax payer identification number (and state license number) that will receive the commissions. Existing producers do not have to complete this document for a new sale.

When the Standard Producer Commission Agreement prepared and signed, please send two copies to your BCBSIL Sales and/or Account executive for processing. Please include a copy of the current, valid Illinois Producer or Registered Firm license that matches the tax ID number entered on the Standard Producer Commission Agreement.
