The type of service you might need depends on your personal situation. We can help you find out what services are covered. You do not need a referral for a provider that is in our plan network.

What Is Covered?

Some of the covered services we offer include:

  • Alcohol or drug treatments
  • Care during a hospital stay
  • Community-based behavioral health services
  • Crisis services
  • Day treatment at a hospital
  • Intensive outpatient program
  • Medication assisted treatment
  • Outpatient services, such as medication management, therapy and counseling
  • Residential treatment of substance abuse

What Is Not Covered?

Examples of what this plan does not cover:

  • Experimental procedures or non-drug therapies
  • Services from non-licensed providers

Behavioral Health Follow-Up During and After Your Hospital Stay

Behavioral Health Follow-Up Can Help Improve Your Overall Health

If you are in the hospital for medical problems, there may be behavioral health problems that should be treated too. Some signs may be feeling tired or having headaches or upset stomach. You may have a hard time sleeping or eating. You may feel sad, anxious, or really scared. These may make your medical problems worse.

Ask your doctor or nurse about seeing someone for this while you are in the hospital. Let them know what symptoms you are feeling. Then ask them for a behavioral health consult. This means that a specialist will come talk to you about these symptoms.

Before you leave the hospital, make sure that you have a behavioral health follow-up appointment scheduled. It is best if the appointment is within 30 days of discharge.

How We Can Help

Call the number on the back of your insurance card to speak with a case manager. A case manager can help you with getting treatment and follow-up.

Behavioral Health Crisis Line

The Behavioral Health Crisis Line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This service is offered to help intervene and stabilize during a crisis. Any member having a psychiatric or behavioral health crisis can call this number. A qualified mental health professional will be sent to provide a face-to-face screening.

When should you call the Behavioral Health Crisis Line? Call if there is:

  • Feelings of hopelessness
  • A high level of anxiety or agitation
  • An increase in risky behaviors or substance abuse
  • Suicidal and/or homicidal thoughts
