Immunization questions? Find answers online
Lynn Van Matre, Illinois LifeTimes Editor
Wondering what other vaccinations you or family members might need? Visit vaccines.gov, a new online wellness resource, for recommendations from health experts.
Launched by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the website was designed for easy navigation and readability. It includes content on a variety of immunization-related topics, including what vaccines might be needed if you plan to travel out of the country. You’ll also find vaccine recommendations for specific age groups, from infants and young children to people age 65 and older.
Plans call for vaccines.gov to be expanded during the coming year to include information from other government departments and updated content on infectious disease outbreaks. A Spanish-language version also is in the works.
