The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued new safety information about statin drugs, often prescribed to lower cholesterol. The FDA no longer recommends routine monitoring of liver enzymes, for example. However, the agency warns that statin users may run a small, increased risk of type 2 diabetes and other health problems.

The Mitchell Museum of the American Indian in Evanston, Ill., is one of a handful of museums in the nation to focus exclusively on the contributions of American Indians and First Nation peoples in the United States and Canada. The museum opened 35 years ago and continues to expand its outreach.
