Marion, IL — The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois Marion facility has much to celebrate in the month of September. Along with its 30-year anniversary in the community, its employees are also celebrating 10 years at their current location at 5001 Meadowland Parkway.

"The Marion office has been an excellent contributor to the Marion Community, supporting initiatives like the United Way with annual fundraising efforts as well as employee payroll contributions," says Kim Morse, the facility's Service, Delivery and Operations Director. "Annual fundraising events are a big celebration for Marion employees and generate a lot of excitement for supporting local programs."

Since opening its doors in 1983 Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois in Marion has become one of the top employers in the area, where the unemployment rate is at nine percent, 2.5 percent higher than the national average. The company believes it attracts quality employees through a combination of company reputation, wages, and benefits.

"Passion for work, flexibility and willingness to learn something new, is what drives the success of our business," states Teri Jo Spaven, Service Delivery & Operations Senior Manager. "This celebration is a way for us to thank our employees for their dedication and service."
